I have never been much of a collector. I am not really sure why. I am TOTALLY a pack rat and I keep tons of stuff, but not particularly one kind of stuff.
The one exception, I guess, would be BOOKS.
I definitely collect them. But they are not like most collectible items. They are not for being set out to look pretty. They are not for the sake of having a collection. They are for READING. I am hard on my books. I read them in the tub, I bend their spines back to make them easier to see, I lay them around the car and the house even though that could be dangerous for their lasting beauty. I believe books are to be used not admired. I love seeing a worn out book...it has been treasured. All of my books are treasured!
